Scott Rocklage and his Active Interference in Healthcare Management Industry in Driving Solutions

Scott Rocklage is an executive with more than two decades of experience in healthcare management industry, and he is known for driving efficient solutions. Rocklage is currently the Managing Partner of 5AM Ventures, a prominent venture capital firm that focuses on creating next-generation life science companies. Additionally, it supports various healthcare companies that are researching to address various healthcare needs using cutting-edge solutions in science and medicine.

Rocklage’s decades of experience and strategic leadership helped the firm to win FDA approvals on three drug applications for Omniscan™, Cubicin®, and Teslascan®. Interestingly, he could enter as many as six drug candidates for clinical trials, and that helped the firm to secure quick approval.

Rocklage is fascinated about the research development that is targeting genotypes or specific mutations for treating the cancers in unique methods. He likes to collaborate with entrepreneurs who are either physicians, scientists, or business executives and thinks that they can shape the ideas to the betterment of medical needs.

Scott wrote the success story of the venture capital firm by focusing on people; he thinks that a great team selection is the deciding factor of any new company. Scott Rocklage collaborated with various healthcare firms in his lengthy career. He was the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Cubist Pharmaceuticals – in the period 1994 to 2003, CEO and President of Nycomed Salutar – during the period 1990 to 1994, and also assumed various R&D roles at Salutar and Catalytica.

Scott Rocklage also served as the Chairman of the boards of Novira and Relypsa, and currently the Chairman of Epirus, Rennovia, Kinestral, and Cidara, and Pulmatrix. He is on the board of associates of Whitehead Institute. Scott holds more than 30 U.S. patents and wrote in more than 100 peer-reviewed journals.

Rocklage completed his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of California. He earned his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Chemistry before starting his career. Rocklage advice the young generation of entrepreneurs to not to afraid of taking measured risks.
